We represent commercial fiction, including women's fiction, romances, young adult fiction, and mysteries and thrillers, and negotiate with all the major publishers in North America. We market subsidiary rights for our clients and have affiliations with sub-agents for film rights and translation rights internationally. In women's fiction, we are interested in all varieties of subjects of interest to women of all ages, from coming of age stories, chick lit, family-oriented stories, and stories featuring strong, independent women of all ages. Among romances, we handle everything from historical to contemporary, from traditional sweet romances to erotica, from light and funny to dark and gothic. We also include multicultural, paranormal, and fantasy romances, although not time-travel or inspirational stories. While we are primarily interested in single-title works, we will consider talented category writers who also want to break into single title. In young adult fiction, we are willing to consider a variety of works--both commercial and literary works; contemporary, historical, and dystopian future settings; our world and other worlds; boy and girl protagonists; and multicultural and non-heteronormative protagonists and themes--driven by compelling narrative voices. We will consider mysteries of all types (cozies, hard-boiled, etc.) and thrillers (legal, medical, although not political), provided the characters are believable and the plots well-constructed. We do NOT handle picture books, screenplays or any non-fiction. We are members of the Association of Authors' Representatives, and do not charge reading fees. We are a Romance Writers of America recognized agency. |
